THE BENEFITS OF LAUGHTER

I hope you are all keeping safe, sane and well. I have been meaning to write my first post of 2021, and am not sure about you, but some things just seem to take forever during lockdown 3… “I will do that tomorrow…” are words and thoughts I seem to have on the same repeat button as most of my daily routine. So, having stocked up on some rosemary essential oil (very much recommended for an uplift and focus), and a few drops of Saskia’s Flower Essence, Focus, Energise and Create, (although I can’t take too much as energy levels then want to exceed Covid restrictions!). I am finally writing a little new year note to send some love and hopefully bring some smiles.

Laughter is a strong natural medicine. It strengthens your immune system, boosts mood, helps relieve pain and eases anxiety and stress. It inspires hope, which is something I think we all need a little bit extra of right now. It helps you shift perspective, to feel less overwhelmed, more positive and focused.

As you know, The Lines is very technically challenged and has shied away from doing any Insta Lives or reels. However, rosemary sprayed, I am going to embrace this Instagram Live thing.

I am super excited to be joined by the amazing Ashling McCloy, Style Editor and Fashion Presenter. I have been fortunate to have Ashling as one of my closet friends for over twenty years since we met on an Art Foundation Course. This Thursday at 4pm GMT I have the incredible yoga teacher Tammy Walker teaching a Yin yoga class. If you don’t know about yin, it is a slow-paced style of yoga that incorporates principles of traditional Chinese medicine. Postures are held for a few minutes. I think it is amazing! You don’t need to have any yoga experience. To be honest, even if you don’t have a mat, just roll out a towel. It never fails to relax me and put everything back where it should be. We will do a 20-30mins class I hope you enjoy it. @ellielines Instagram Live with @yoga.tam Thursday 11th 4pm GMT.

Whilst most people find even getting dressed each day a stretch, never mind putting on an actual dress ! Stay tuned as we continue to make limited edition pieces and made-to-order, as people slowly embrace getting dressed up again. Meanwhile ease in with some above-the-keyboard-dressing by slipping on a fun blouse. Failing that, accessories are a super easy way to play with your everyday style and add an instant lift.
