RACING STYLE GUIDE
With Goodwood, York and the King George at Ascot fast approaching, an Ellie Lines race day outfit is essential! With many styles to choose from, here are my current favourite three and some styling suggestions from a few of our most-loved designers.
LOOK 1
From silhouette to print, the Chrissie dress provides the ultimate race day look. To accompany the pink striping and accent the orange tones, La Double J’s hand pochette in riviera will provide space for all your race day essentials. In terms of shoes, Rupert Sanderson is always reliable. The Nada Cromato in punch pink not only highlights the Chrissie dress but provides a comfortable level of height. Millinery is a race day staple and Millinery Jill, similarly to Ellie, is commonly inspired by vintage pieces pairing their designs together perfectly. The Bamboo bit beret demonstrates Millinery Jill’s clean and unfussy style while still providing an extra feminine touch. To finish the look, Vivienne Westwood’s Bridgitte Sunglasses.
LOOK 2
If the sun is shining, the Camilla maxi dress is always a good option, for the races and elsewhere! On a hot summers’ race day the Camilla dress will provide all the comfort and movement you need. The pastel colour palette marries gorgeously with a nude. Aldo is a staple for high street shoes and their Stessy stiletto in bone gives the look a retro and sexy touch. To add some texture, try a beige Saint Laurent Uptown raffia leather trim pouch, timeless, sleek and elegant. To compliment the pouch, wear Sarah Cant’s Menton. Made from a natural fine straw and demonstrates an ombre of yellow, orange, and coral tones. Finally, a small detail to make a big difference, earrings. A pair of fringed chainmail earrings by Paco Rabanne ties everything together adding a perfect glimpse of shimmer.
LOOK 3
For a slightly more mature but still fun look, start with the Austin dress. The Austin dress displays a more form fitting silhouette and allows the sleeves to steal the show. To pair, a Steve Madden Entice sandal in lavender blooms, this minimalistic design flatters the Austin dress perfectly, while still being a timeless and versatile shoe for future race days and events. Regarding a bag, Bond & Mason’s Libby handbag is both a stylish and functional piece, as well as being constructed with 100% vegan leather. For millinery, the trusted Siana Yewdall’s Rosie Olivia in purple. Finally, Monica Vinader’s Siren petal chain necklace for a delicate finishing touch, and good luck charm!
